About Me

On one hand it serves a function, a stool, but now it’s a memory of the excitement of learning about how others work in photography, being inspired and engaged in the dialogue of critical analysis.

I was diagnosed with Autism in June 2019 at 54 years old which was a significant turning point, of course, in my life, validating the angst and confusion but enabling a recognition of how I processed through the expression of the created visual image. I feel heard, despite words not being spoken, by the cosmos and whoever would listen to champion that people were not the same and that neurodiversity presented unusual perspectives to commonalities taken as truth.

Now studying a p/t MA in Photography at Leeds Arts University, West Yorkshire UK ( Leeds Arts University 2021) , I have chosen to challenge myself, and probably others, in welcoming in my neurodiversity, as is, and sharing how I think and process the world I come into contact with.

Addit: My views in this blog, that originated as an alternative methodology to a dissertation for my masters course, are entirely my own and do not reflect those of my university, but I do adhere to the standards set out for ethical practice by my university (Leeds Arts University 2020) as well respecting the regulations attaining to that of equality and diversity in the UK (Equality Act 2010).
