Understanding Terminology in Education

I have an experience of listening in school and lectures in university and colleges. The interpretations I glean from the dialogue amongst a group in educational and academic arenas can be a challenge but once I feel orientated and comfortable in the group I am able to ask specifically what is meant by a certain word. For example I was listening and the the cohort were described as a ‘soup’ of people. I chose to let that one go.

I’ve noticed that I use the word navigate quite often as I do feel as though I am on the journey as such, putting myself in situations that can be exhausting just by the mere fact of the being there but I love getting absorbed. Part of me wishes I didn’t have to leave the building to carry on on with everyday life. I think I would prefer to have favoured an opportunity for more academic discussions to take place on our subject.

I really enjoyed being part of the session in the physical space rather than online through the virtual world. A book (the topic) feels like a physical item to me so it felt important for me to be physically there in the space.

Connections in my neurodiverse world are somewhat amiss, non existent or have their own way of working. I’ve started to refer to voids in understanding as ‘blind spots’ and as a car driver I get that. I think I’m digressing so I’ll expand on that concept in another post (see below).
